B.Sc. Home Science is a professional course offering specializations in Apparel and Textile Design (20 seats), Composite (30 seats), Dietetics (30 seats), Human Development and Family Relations (20 seats), Interior Design and Resource Management (20 seats). All candidates will be admitted in B.Sc. (H.Sc.) at the time of admission to Semester I and Semester I to IV will be common to all. Specializations will be allotted during Semester IV and implemented in Semester V on the basis of merit drawn up with the following formula -
50% of aggregate marks of (10+2) + 50% of cumulative aggregate marks of University exam of B.Sc. (H.Sc.) Semester I and Semester II.

60% seats are reserved for the candidates passing the qualifying examination from U.T., Chandigarh (Chandigarh quota).
40% seats are reserved for candidates passing the qualifying examination from Institutes outside Chandigarh (Outstation quota).
Reservation of seats for M.Sc. Home Science - Semester I and Post Graduate Diploma Courses
- Semester I:
60% seats are reserved for the candidates passing the lower qualifying examination from Colleges affiliated to Panjab University, Chandigarh (Chandigarh quota).
40% seats are reserved for the candidates from other universities (Outstation quota).
