Hostel accommodation, including boarding, is available.
There shall be a mess committee constituted by the Principal to guide the representatives of the students to look after the mess arrangement.
For the efficient functioning of the college hostel, there is a Hostel committee consisting of the Principal, the Hostel Supdt., and members of the staff and students' representatives. This committee looks into the day-to-day difficulties and problems of resident students and frame rules from time to time.
Every resident student will be expected to follow the hostel rules strictly.
Admission to the hostel will not be granted unless the parent accompanies the candidate at the time of interview. This will apply to the old students as well.
The hostel application form must be accompanied by a postcard size family photograph. This is mandatory and admission will not be given in the absence of the family photograph.
Old students will be given re-admission to the hostel on the basis of their good behavior in the previous year.
Passport size photographs of local guardians should be submitted along with the hostel admission form, at the time of admission.
OUTING AND LEAVE FROM THE HOSTEL
Outing will be on every Wednesday after 4 p.m. till roll call time and on every Sunday from 10 a.m. till roll call time. Passes will be issued on Wednesday itself. Weekend outings will be permitted only with the parents' permission. The pass booklet will be signed by the parents when the student takes a weekend outing and should be returned to the hostel superintendent, on return to the hostel.
No student shall be allowed to go out of town during working days without the prior permission of the Principal/Hostel Supdt.
An application seeking permission should be sent by the parents/local guardians direct to the Principal/ Hostel Supdt. No resident student shall be allowed to become a day scholar during the stay in the hostel for more than two days. If any student does so, her seat in the hostel will be cancelled immediately.
A resident student on leave from the hostel will apply for the leave from the college as well. In case she is found attending classes in the college while on sick leave from the hostel strict action will be taken against her.
Students who absent themselves from the hostel without Night Out Pass will have to face strict action as per the decision of the Hostel Committee.
Mess Security amounting to Rs. 1000/- will be charged from the Hostel resident students at the time of admission to the hostel which will be refunded at the time of leaving the Hostel.
Mess is run on contract basis. The Mess Charges for the session 2017-18 will be as per the approved contract rate of the contractor.
Mess Dues are deposited cumulative for every quarter. Mess Dues are to be deposited before the 10th of the month of the quarter, for which dues are being paid online.
If a student fails to pay the dues within 15 days, their mess account will be cancelled/they will not get food from the mess.
Hostellers are required to dine in the dining hall only.
No hosteller is permitted to take her meals to her room without the special permission of the Hostel Supdt. If found violating disciplinary action will be taken.
No hosteller is allowed to enter the cooking area/kitchen of the hostel.
Hostellers must be punctual for meals.
Hostellers are not allowed to come in casual clothes/night dress to the dining hall. They should be properly and decently clad.
Students should bring with them their own bedding, bed linen, locks, a tumbler, two plates, a spoon and one bulb.
The students are not permitted to use any private electrical appliances, radio, two in one, electric rods, electrical press, transistors, record players etc. In case of default a fine of Rs. 150/- will be imposed and the electric appliance will be confiscated from the defaulter to be returned only when she leaves the hostel.
Any loss or damage to the hostel property including furniture will be recovered from the defaulters. The Principal/Hostel Supdt. Reserve the rights of censorship of all correspondence of all the resident students.
Students should not use abusive/foul language.
Silence hours should strictly be observed by the resident students after 9.30 p.m. daily so as to allow the students to study without any kind of interference or disturbance.
Students must not bring costly jewellery or keep excessive cash with them. The student should open an account with the State Bank of Patiala, Sector-10, Chandigarh. The hostel/ college authorities will not be responsible for the loss of any personal property.
Parents should be very careful in appointing local guardians of their wards who will shoulder the responsibility of looking after their wards without any hesitation. In case of any sickness or any emergency their address and telephone / mobile numbers etc. must be clearly written on the form alongwith their specimen signatures.
The Parents/visitors of the ward should be properly properly dressed while visiting the hostel.
In case of any change of address/ contact number of parents and local guardians, the same must be intimated to the hostel authorities immediately.
Students suffering from serious/chronic/infectious diseases will not be admitted in the hostel. If this fact is concealed from the authorities at the time of admission, the student's seat in the hostel will be cancelled, as soon as it is discovered that she is suffering from a serious disease.
Medical certificate from the medical practitioner must be attached along with the admission form.

PERMISSION TO RESIDENT STUDENTS FOR LEAVING THE HOSTEL
Rules with regard to permission to resident students to leave the hostel have been framed by the D.P.I. Chandigarh Administration, as intimated, - vide Memo No. DOI (UT) (CH) 12(12/75), dated 15th February, 1975. The same will be observed by the students.
Students are not allowed to stay in the college hostel during the autumn break, winter break, summer vacation and after the P.U. Examinations (Theory/Practical) are over.
Students must get special permission to attend a birthday party or wedding of friend locally or out of station. If at all such permission is granted, it will be subject to the condition of a permission letter received by the Principal from the student's parents and not local guardians at least four days prior to the date of function and the leave will be granted in lieu of a routine outing.
Students will be issued a Hostel Record Book, which maintains a complete record of their outings and their conduct in the hostel. The college expects parents to check the Record book for their personal information.
Parents are advised not to allow their wards to stay out for weekends. In case they wish that their wards may spend their weekends with the local guardians, instructions in writing must be left with the hostel superintendent.
Parents/guardians must furnish a list of visitors and relatives with their specimen signatures and photographs(of guardians, relatives and visitors) to the Hostel Superintendent. Parent/guardians must specify if the local guardian is authorized to give permission of any kind such as attending parties, going out of station etc. to their wards, failing which students will not be permitted to go out.
The visitors will meet their wards in the visitor's room or in the sick room in the case of illness. No visitor can go to the students' room.
Students (men/women) shall not be local guardians unless they are very closely related to the resident student and are elder in age. If male students act as local guardians/visitors they will not be allowed to bring their friends to the hostel with them to visit their wards.
Admission form for hostel must have the signatures and photographs of the local guardians. The resident students going out to local guardians must get a 'Pass' before they leave and return this pass to superintendent duly signed by the local guardian. These signatures will be tallied with the signatures in the Hostel Admission forms and any defaulter shall be strictly penalized.
Students going to local guardians and for shopping will have to return by 5.30 p.m. during winter and 6.30 p.m. during summer, else they will be gated.
No guest is allowed to stay for the night.
Breach of hostel or college rules shall render the students subject to disciplinary action/expulsion from the hostel and the college.
The Principal has the right to change any of the college or hostel rules at any time without prior notice.
Parents are requested to make a note of the above rules and to assist their wards in observing the rules and regulations given in the prospectus.
The Principal can refuse admission to any student without giving any reason.
The provisions of this prospectus may be altered at any time and such alteration will be binding on all students.
