Clubs and Societies

Following clubs and societies are functioning in the college:

Seminars, tutorials, paper reading contests, street plays along with various competitions are held regularly. Lectures and activities of general and cultural interest are arranged by these clubs and societies, from time to time.


Students' Council

Students' Council is an elected body, to look after the interest of the students and help the authorities in maintaining perfect discipline in the college.


Tutorials

Every student is allotted a tutorial group under the charge of a faculty member who takes interest in the welfare and progress of the ward.


Guidance and Counselling Bureau

A Guidance and Counselling Bureau is functional in the college to cope with any educational, vocational and emotional problems faced by the students.


Placement Cell

The college has an active placement cell which liaisons with the related industry and schedules interviews and placements. The cell organizes workshops on personality development, resume writing and associated activities. Soft skill development and entrepreneurship development workshops are also organized by inviting speakers/experts from the relevant areas.


Games and Sports

Physical drill and games are compulsory. The college provides facilities for various indoor and outdoor games.


National Cadet Corps (NCC)

Under graduate students can join NCC as volunteers. Once enrolled, NCC is compulsory for six semesters. NCC cadets have to attend 35 periods of regular training and participate in social service activities every year. On completion of one camp within four semesters, NCC cadets are eligible for 'BEE' Certificate. For 'CEE' Certificate NCC cadets should pass `BEE` Certificate and attend one camp in the V or VI semester .


National Service Scheme (NSS)

NSS activities are compulsory for all the students and students & staff are involved in voluntary outreach activity participation in the adopted village 'Khuda Ali Sher' pertaining to 'Swachh Bharat' and skill development. Two seven day and night camps are compulsory for each student. Weightage of marks are given for the same as per the decision of the syndicate, Panjab University, Chandigarh.


Rotaract Club

Rotaract Installation Ceremony held in college. Rotaract Club of the Govt. Home Science College was given 'Best International Service Project Award' and 'Best Club Service Project Award' for the tenure 2015-16.
